Allan A Dale is a character from the medieval legend of Robin Hood. The character was also featured in the recent BBC adaption, changing between being one of the protagonists and being a minor antagonist.

In most versions of the Robin Hood legend, Allan is a trubadour. His talent varies a lot between different retellings. The most common description of Allan in novels is as a blonde prettyboy with a sensitive disposition.

In the BBC series, the character was heavily reinterpreted. Allan was featured as a troublesome petty criminal who had a real problem telling the truth. On one occasion he betrayed the outlaws, and sided with Guy of Gisborne and the The Sheriff of Nottingham. He returned to Robin's gang after finding out the antagonists were going to the Holy Land to assassinate King Richard Lionheart. Allan was killed by the sheriff in the final episode.
